Free Systems Licence

Version 2026-07-27

This licence governs the free compliance systems ComplianceSME issues at no charge, such as the Companies Act 2006 system, the GDPR system, and the UK GDPR and DPA 2018 system. Claiming or downloading any free system means you accept this licence.

Each free system is licensed to the account holder's company for that company's own internal use. The people who work on your compliance may use it. Nobody outside your company may.

You may not resell, share, redistribute, or publish the files, in whole or in part. You may not pass them to another company, and you may not make them available to anyone outside your company.

The files, their structure, and their content are the copyright of ComplianceSME. Copyright is asserted in all countries. Nothing in this licence transfers ownership to you.

ComplianceSME monitors each free instrument and issues update files as and when the law shifts. Update files arrive in your account. You are responsible for working from the current version once an update is issued.

The free systems are compliance documentation tools. They are not legal advice, they are not an audit, and they do not replace professional counsel where your circumstances require it. Every output is built from the information you provide, so you are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of what you enter and for verifying outputs against the source instrument before relying on them.

The free systems are provided as they are, without warranty beyond that which the law requires and which cannot be excluded. ComplianceSME accepts no liability for compliance failures, regulatory penalties, audit outcomes, or other consequences arising from the use of the free systems.

ComplianceSME may end the licence of an account that breaches these terms. Clauses 2, 3, 5 and 6 survive.

This licence is governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute.
