Global Fuel Report

Inside Claude. Inside Stripe.

ComplianceSME arrives in two places you already use: as a connector inside Claude, where the compliance work is done in conversation, and as an app inside your Stripe Dashboard, which reads what your account already knows about the business and names the obligations that follow.

The ComplianceSME connector and the Stripe app are both free. Neither takes a payment, and neither asks for payment details. The two filter agents further down this page are separate, and each is a monthly subscription or comes with a paid account level.

Inside Claude, in three steps

The connector puts your compliance work inside Claude. You ask for it in plain English instead of downloading a file and loading it yourself. The work does not change: one section of a toolkit arrives at a time, in order, and each section is an interview that asks one question and waits for your answer.

This is the address you paste into Claude. It is text to copy, not a link.

https://mcp.compliancesme.com/mcp
  1. Add it as a custom connector. In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector. Paste the address above and save. The path is the same in a browser and in the Claude desktop application. On a phone, Settings sits behind the account menu and Connectors is inside it.
  2. Confirm your email address. A ComplianceSME page opens and asks for your email address. Give the address your account is held under, then send yourself the link and open it. The link is good for thirty minutes. No password is typed anywhere, so there is no password for Claude to see, store or pass on.
  3. Read the page, then approve it. The page names your account and lists exactly what the connection will be able to do. Select Connect and you go back to Claude with ComplianceSME in your connectors. Approve a link only if you started the connection yourself in the last half hour.

To start work, open a new conversation and ask ComplianceSME what it can do. It answers with a short menu and takes your answer to the right tool.

What you can ask it for

An example

An online retailer in Ireland with twelve staff, selling into the EU, asks: "We are a limited company in Ireland, twelve staff, turnover under two million euro. We sell online, we hold customer data, and we use an AI assistant in customer service. What applies to us?" Back comes the obligation list, each duty named from its instrument, and the account level that carries it. Then: "Open section P02 of A-001 and take me through it", and the GDPR interview begins.

The two filter agents are separate connectors

They read what you are about to publish or ship and tell you what the law asks of it. Each is added the same way, Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector, and each has its own address. Both are a monthly subscription, and both come with every paid level. They are on the plans page.

How to disconnect

Open Settings, then Connectors, then ComplianceSME, and remove or disconnect it. That withdraws the grant and access stops at once. Nothing on your account is deleted: your toolkits, your progress and your documents stay as they were, and the dashboard on the website carries on. Signing out of the website does not disconnect the connector, and disconnecting the connector does not sign you out of the website.

Inside Stripe

Link the ComplianceSME app in your Stripe account and it assesses your business's compliance needs in one go. It reads what your Stripe account already holds about the business and names the obligations that apply, the toolkit that covers each one, and the dates ahead. Nothing on your Stripe account is changed. The app is free to install and free to use: there is no subscription inside it, no charge for the panel, and no fee that falls due after installing.

How to install it

The app sits in the Stripe App Marketplace at this address. It is text to copy, not a link.

https://marketplace.stripe.com/apps/compliancesme
  1. Open the address in the same browser as your Stripe account. Paste it in the address bar with your Stripe Dashboard already open.
  2. Install it. Press Install, choose the account, then press Continue on the permissions screen. The install finishes on your ComplianceSME account page.
  3. Open the panel. Back in your Stripe Dashboard, open the app from the Apps tray, the four squares, or from App settings, Open app. The panel reads your account and shows your obligations.

What the app reads

The app asks for two read-only permissions when you install it, and it uses no others. Everything below is read through your own Dashboard session, so a colleague who cannot see the account cannot see it through this app either.

All of it is read only. It reads only what is listed above. Payments, customers, invoices, subscriptions, payouts, balances, bank details and card numbers stay in Stripe.

The facts listed above are sent to compliancesme.com, which returns the obligations, the toolkits that cover them and the dates ahead. Nothing else is sent, and the request is signed by Stripe and checked before it is read.

Nothing from your Stripe account is stored against a ComplianceSME customer record by the panel. Data read through the app is used to answer the merchant who asked, and is not aggregated, sold, published or given to anyone else. The full account is in section 6 of the privacy notice.

The dashboard holds the record

Whichever route you come in by, one place holds the work. Your compliance dashboard carries your obligation list, the toolkits on your account, how far you have got through each one, and the dated record of every section served. The connector and the website read and write the same record, so progress made in Claude shows on the website and the other way round.

The account it runs in

Every account level runs inside a dedicated Claude account. Anyone can try a toolkit in their own Claude account, and we encourage it: the free GDPR toolkit and the company law libraries cost nothing. Compliance work runs in a dedicated one.

The Claude Max plan is £90 a month, paid to Anthropic. It is not included in any level, and ComplianceSME receives no part of it. Every toolkit ships with a printed guide that sets the dedicated account up in ten minutes.

How it is served

Anything to do with connecting, a reply that looks wrong, or a problem with your account goes to toolkit@compliancesme.com and is answered by a person within one working day. A fault with a toolkit you own is reported on the report a problem page.
