You write with AI. This checks what you wrote before it goes out.

Paste in a draft, a news piece or a video script, or give it the address of a page you have already put out. It reads the words and tells you three things: where the writing reads as if a machine wrote it, which claims you cannot legally make, and which consumer laws your words touch. Every answer names the line it sits on.

It is for marketing managers, founders who write their own site, newsletter writers, agencies, and anyone whose words reach customers in the EU or the UK.

Does it read like a machine wrote it. ComplianceSME holds a written list of the habits a machine falls into: filler phrases, hedging, promises no business can keep, invented urgency, the sales turn that makes a thing sound more than it is, every sentence the same length, every paragraph opening the same way. You get each one it finds, with the line it is on, and a score out of 100. Your own voice passes. A template does not.

Can you back what you said. Three rules, held to on every line. Say only what your material supports. Promise only what your business controls. Sound only as sure as the evidence you hold. A promise the business cannot keep is named. A claim the words alone cannot settle comes back as unknown rather than waved through.

What the law asks of those words. The duties your words carry under UK and EU consumer law: urgency and scarcity claims, environmental claims, marketing sent by email, reviews, and the AI Act rule that says material a machine made is disclosed to the people who read or watch it. Each duty is quoted from the law with its article, and each gets one of three answers. Pass, the proof is in the words. Fail, the duty applies and the thing it asks for is missing. Unknown, the words cannot answer, so nothing is assumed.

What comes back is kept on your account. Ask for any part of it again later and it does not count as another check.

FAIL     Guarantee language: “guaranteed to cut your office energy bill”

FAIL     Generic environmental claim: “eco-friendly”. Nothing beside it names
         the standard or the measurement the claim rests on. Green Transition

FAIL     Contrast pivot: “not just a lamp, it is a statement”

UNKNOWN  Urgency and scarcity: “Only 12 left”, “ends at midnight tonight”.
         Whether they are true is a fact about your stock, not your words.

Four answers, each with the sentence it sits on and the law behind it.

Ask for one part of it the same way. “Show me the duties part of that again.”

It is not legal advice, and it never says a company is compliant. Where a matter is contested, take it to a qualified professional.

It reads words. It cannot see a record you keep, a process you follow or a conversation you had, so duties that turn on those are listed as not checked, with the count, every time.

A draft has no cookies and no page code, so the checks that need a live page run only on a live page.

Whether a machine wrote something is a fact about how it was made, not a fact about the words. Where a draft says nothing either way, the AI disclosure answer is unknown and you are asked rather than guessed at.
