This toolkit organises the obligations of Hungary's Act CLXIV of 2005 on trade into ten working files, each pairing open questions with the statutory text.

Included from the Micro level.

Every toolkit in the level is included; nothing is bought one by one.

The businesses it reaches

The Act reaches businesses that sell goods to consumers in Hungary, whether in a shop, at a market or online, and it also governs the notification, record keeping and customer service duties that attach to those activities. It applies to employers who engage staff in retail work, to operators of commercial premises and to businesses that take over or expand a retail activity. Waste producers and businesses handling packaging fall within its reporting and registration provisions.

The ten working files walk through the obligations by subject. They cover notification duties, the keeping and presentation of documents, the operating rules for customer service, the conclusion of agreements, qualification requirements, information duties during inspections, record keeping and data reporting, and the payment of late payment penalties. Each file sets out open questions a business answers from its own records, with the statutory text carried verbatim beside each duty.

The sections are served through a connector inside Claude, so nothing is downloaded and nothing is installed. The documents that come back are dated compliance reports the business keeps in its own file. The toolkit never gives advice and never presents a perspective; it carries what the authority wrote, organised.

Questions and answers

Which businesses does this Act apply to?

It applies to businesses selling goods to consumers in Hungary, including shops, market traders and online sellers. It also reaches employers engaging retail staff, operators of commercial premises and waste producers subject to its reporting rules. The ten working files organise the resulting duties by subject.

What does the toolkit contain?

It is a set of ten working files that organise this one instrument's obligations into phases of open questions a business answers from its own records. The statutory text is carried verbatim beside each duty. The files cover notification, document keeping, customer service, agreements, qualifications, inspection information, record keeping and late payment penalties.

How are the sections delivered?

The sections are served through a connector inside Claude. Nothing is downloaded and nothing is installed. A business reaches the working files from within its Claude environment.

What do I get back after working through the questions?

The documents that come back are dated compliance reports. The business keeps them in its own file. They record the answers the business gave from its own records.

Does the toolkit tell me what to do?

No. The toolkit never gives advice and never presents a perspective. It carries what the authority wrote, organised, and leaves the answers to the business.

Which version of the law is used?

The text follows the consolidated version published in the Nemzeti Jogszabálytár at njt.jog.gov.hu, as at 1 October 2026. The working files quote that version beside each duty.

What does the file on notification cover?

It covers the notification a business must make before starting or changing a retail activity. The open questions ask the business to set out its own facts from its records. The relevant provision is cited in the file.

What does the file on customer service cover?

It covers the operating rules for customer service, including how complaints and requests are handled. The open questions draw on the business's own records of that operation. The file cites the governing provision.

What does the file on late payment penalties cover?

It covers the obligation to pay a late payment penalty where a duty is not met on time. The open questions ask the business to establish its own position from its records. The file cites the provision that imposes the penalty.

Is the toolkit legal advice?

No. It is a set of working files that organise the instrument's obligations and carry the statutory text. It never gives advice and never presents a perspective. A business that needs a legal view should consult a qualified adviser.
