Your confirmation statement is due
Companies Act 2006 (c. 46) · At least every 12 months · £34 online
The duties
The Companies Act 2006 requires every company to deliver a confirmation statement to Companies House at least once every twelve months. The statement confirms that the information Companies House holds about the company is correct. It must be filed even when nothing has changed. It must reach Companies House within fourteen days of the end of the review period.
Failure to file is a criminal offence for the company and its officers, and it is a ground for Companies House to strike the company off the register. The online filing fee is £34, paid once in each twelve-month payment period however many statements you file in that period. In most small companies the directors carry this duty, and the accountant often files the statement as part of the annual fee.
Identity verification carried out through the first confirmation statement filed after 18 November 2025 is handled by the separate ECCTA 2023 system. See the ECCTA 2023 tool →
The tool that solves it
The Confirmation Statement working file in the ComplianceSME Companies Act 2006 system walks you through the statement and the register of members it reconciles to. It asks you about your registered details, your shareholders and your people with significant control, one question at a time, records what is confirmed and what has changed, and produces the evidence that the statement was accurate and filed on time.
