This Toolkit organises the obligations of the Mindestlohngesetz into three working files, each built around open questions a business answers from its own records.

Included from the Micro level.

Every toolkit in the level is included; nothing is bought one by one.

The businesses it reaches

The Mindestlohngesetz sets the statutory minimum wage in Germany and reaches employers across every sector, including trades, hospitality, construction, transport, cleaning, agriculture and care providers, as well as the online sellers and waste producers whose operations bring staff under its record-keeping duties. It governs how pay is calculated and paid, how certain employers must report staff to the authorities, and which payroll and contract records must be kept ready for inspection.

The Toolkit is a set of three working files that organise this one instrument's obligations into phases of open questions a business answers from its own records, with the statutory text carried verbatim beside each duty. The first working file covers the calculation and payment of remuneration under the Mindestlohngesetz, including the rules on deductions and the treatment of allowances.

The second working file addresses the reporting duty that certain employers owe to the customs authority, and the third covers the keeping of control records ready for inspection. Sections are served through a connector inside Claude, and the documents that come back are dated compliance reports the business keeps in its own file.

Questions and answers

Which businesses does the Mindestlohngesetz apply to?

It applies to employers in Germany, whatever their sector, from trades and hospitality to transport, cleaning and care. Online sellers and waste producers also fall within its record-keeping and reporting duties where they employ staff. The Toolkit is built for any such business that must show how it meets these obligations.

What does the first working file cover?

It deals with the calculation and payment of remuneration under the Mindestlohngesetz, including deductions and the treatment of allowances. The open questions guide a business through its own payroll records so that each duty is answered from evidence. The statutory wording sits beside each duty for reference.

What is the reporting duty in the second working file?

Certain employers must report their staff to the customs authority under the Mindestlohngesetz. The second working file turns that duty into open questions a business answers from its own records. It covers who must report, what information is required and when the report is due.

Which records must be kept ready for inspection?

The third working file addresses the control records that employers must hold ready for inspection under the Mindestlohngesetz. It sets out the open questions on which documents are required and for how long they must be kept. A business answers these from its own files and payroll data.

How is the Toolkit delivered?

Sections are served through a connector inside Claude. Nothing is downloaded and nothing is installed. The business works through the open questions in its own Claude environment.

What do I receive at the end?

The documents that come back are dated compliance reports the business keeps in its own file. Each report records the answers given to the open questions for that working file. It serves as a record of the business's own compliance position.

Does the Toolkit tell me what to do?

No. The Toolkit never gives advice and never presents a perspective. It carries what the authority wrote, organised into open questions. The business decides how to answer them from its own records.

Do I need to install software?

No installation is required. The sections are served through a connector inside Claude, so the business reaches the working files from within that environment. There is no separate program to set up.

Can the Toolkit replace legal advice?

No. It organises the statutory text and the open questions but gives no recommendation and takes no view on a business's situation. A business that needs a legal assessment should consult a qualified adviser. The Toolkit supports the business's own record-keeping.

How are the three working files structured?

Each working file groups the obligations by subject: remuneration, the reporting duty, and control records. Within each file the open questions follow the phases a business works through from its own records. The statutory text is set beside each duty so the source can be checked directly.
